Blue Water Home Care & Hospice leadership honors staff and volunteers quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, our patients, and the community.
Let’s get to know Carolyn!
Carolyn is a Volunteer, along with her wonderful and much-loved sidekicks, Tommy and Oliver at Blue Water Home Care & Hospice (BWHCH). She has been with the organization since 2017. Upon being named a Star, she said, “I’m totally honored to be a Shining Star”.
What attracted you to become a volunteer at BWHCH?
I started visiting the Hospice Home in 2014 with Pet Therapy dogs. I was drawn to the organization because I had a dog that was quiet and would be good as a hospice visitor. In 2017, I was approached by Heidi (Volunteer Coordinator) and asked to become an official volunteer!
Heidi recognized Carolyn as a Shining Star!
Our volunteer Carolyn spends her time volunteering in many ways throughout our agency but the one thing that makes her a shining star is sharing her therapy dogs Tommy and Oliver with our patients, visitors, and staff weekly.
The dogs bring calmness and joy with each visit. When a request is made for an extra visit, Carolyn doesn’t hesitate. The staff appreciate Carolyn very much for her kindness and continuous support of the Blue Water Hospice Home.
