Blue Water Home Care & Hospice (BWHCH) leadership honors staff and volunteers quarterly through the ‘Shining Star’ program, recognizing the extras they do for each other, our patients, and the community.
Let’s get to know Jessica!
Jessica is the Office Support Specialist and assists all divisions of service. She has been with BWHCH since 2023.
What attracted you to work at BWHCH?
My father-in-law was a patient at the Hospice Home. So, when I saw a position open, I applied because everyone involved in his care was wonderful. I knew it was an organization I wanted to be a part of.
How has your position changed since you started?
When I started, I was doing intake and insurance verification. Over time, I took on more complex projects. This led me to be responsible for more day-to-day tasks throughout the organization. My role has grown to include leading projects, initiating a more self-directed approach to my work, and being a more active role with others. This growth has allowed me to develop my leadership and strategic planning skills, multi-manage activities, and have a wide variety of responsibilities.
Jeannie recognized Jessica as a Shining Star!
Jessica has consistently demonstrated the outstanding qualities of a true Shining Star. In every task she takes on, she brings a can-do attitude that elevates the entire team. Over the past several months, Jessica has stepped up in many ways, taking on numerous new responsibilities with grace and determination, all while continuing to manage her regular daily duties and provide coverage wherever needed.
Among her many contributions, Jessica has taken the lead on divisional supply ordering which requires attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. She assists with home health billing tasks and provides support with the PERS program. All of these extras speak volumes to her work ethic, time management, and dedication to the organization all with a positive attitude.
Jessica approaches challenges with a sense of calm, always eager to learn, and willing to lend a helping hand. Her growth has been truly inspiring to witness. She has quickly become an essential member of our team, and her continued growth and contributions only further showcase her value. We are incredibly fortunate to have her, and we look forward to all that she will continue to accomplish.
